Academic Neuroradiologist, MD
Assistant/Associate Professor
Department of Radiology Brigham and Women’s Hospital

The Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) is seeking a Neuro-radiologist physician scientist to join the division of neuroradiology and serve as the medical director of high field Neuro-MRI. The position will be based in the divisions of Neuroradiology and Research in the Department of Radiology at BWH, with an academic appointment in the Department of Radiology at HMS at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

The department has a long track record of Imaging research and all aspects of the academic mission of the MGB healthcare organization. BWH has multiple areas of research excellence with a central focus on clinical translational research. The radiology research program is constantly ranked in the top 10 nationally with many extra-mural funded laboratories and centers. We have a strong commitment to advancing MR research with a fleet of excellent state of the art imaging devices to support the investigators. Recent acquisitions include a clinical research 7T (Siemens Terra), multiple 3T systems, small animal imaging lab (7T, Micro CT). We anticipate installation of one of the very first GE MAGNUS MR scanners for neuroimaging in 2023.

We seek candidates with a MD degree and optional PhD degree with special interest in high field MRI to join our department, the divisions of neuroradiology and research. The individual must have a strong academic background with a research focus on neuro-MR imaging. For example, research in high field MR, functional and structure imaging, MR pulse sequence development, image acquisition and importantly quantitative image analysis. Expertise and understanding of MR Image analytic methods- image processing, data science. Also, knowledge about integration of MR with complementary neuro investigational modalities such as PET, Optical imaging, Focused Ultrasound, EEG, TMS or MR Spectroscopic analysis are desirable.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in clinical setting and substantial research experience and collaboration with colleagues in neuroscience, neurological disorders such as dementia, traumatic brain injury, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, and neuro-oncology. Candidates should have demonstrated abilities in collaborative, multi-disciplinary team science, teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate level and a track record in securing government and/or industrial research funding. Prior leadership positions and proven ability to build

research teams is an advantage.
