The Senior Medical Science Liaison is responsible for conducting medical/scientific interactions and for supporting internal activities related to medical communications, medical information and clinical research.  This position reports to the Director, MSL Team and is field based with a corporate headquarters in Emeryville, California.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a key extension of the Medical Affairs team as a field-based clinical and medical expert responsible for communicating scientifically-based information and gaining insights in support of the Adamas mission;
  • Develop on-going professional relationships with healthcare practitioners, clinical investigators and healthcare decision makers to provide medical and scientific support for Adamas’ product(s) and clinical development programs/pipeline;
  • Facilitates the education of healthcare providers, patient groups, advocacy organizations, and colleagues regarding approved product(s) and new therapies developed by Adamas;
  • Delivers approved disease, clinical and data presentations per approved compliance policies;
  • Provides project leadership and management on field team and functional area initiatives;
  • Responds to unsolicited requests for information with focused and balanced clinical and scientific information;
  • Identifies and communicates medical/scientific insights and trends;
  • Identifies appropriate clinical investigators and supports interactions with investigators and potential investigators in conjunction with ongoing and planned clinical trials as well as Investigator Initiated Studies;
  • Provides balanced and accurate information to national or regional formulary decision makers;
  • Participates in and leads field team activities at relevant medical congresses and other related events;
  • Supports internal initiatives through collaboration with internal stakeholders as a clinical and scientific subject matter expert to deliver training and support other internal activities;
  • Serves as an advisor to internal stakeholders for strategic planning;
  • Mentor new MSLs, coach and support MSLs to develop engagement strategies;
  • Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as, US healthcare laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, RN, NP or PA) in a scientific discipline or health-related field required;
  • Neurology experience and existing Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships within Parkinson’s, strongly preferred;
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry;
  • Strong knowledge base of regulatory, compliance, commercial, and clinical issues affecting the pharmaceutical and managed care industries;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present scientific information;
  • Ability to learn, understand and communicate complex medical/technical information;
  • Ability to travel approximately 75%;
  • Successful experience in fast-paced entrepreneurial environment;
